AROUND THE WAY HAVEN OF HOPE is a non-profit organization. Established in March, 2020 founded by Katrina Bing,In the heart of Sarasota, where public transit barely reached the doorsteps of those who needed it most, a gap in transportation was quietly shaping the lives of the elderly, disabled, and low-income families. Many were missing doctor’s appointments, isolated from their community, or unable to access basic needs. That’s when Around The Way Haven of Hope decided to change the narrative.
Founded with a single vision — to restore dignity and access through reliable, compassionate transportation — the nonprofit launched with just one van and a deep commitment to serve. What started as a grassroots solution quickly became a lifeline for many.
One of the first riders, Mr. Harold, an 82-year-old veteran, hadn’t been to the grocery store in weeks. His eyesight was failing, and his family lived hours away. When Around The Way Haven of Hope picked him up for a routine ride, he said, “I didn’t just get a ride today — I got my freedom back.”
That moment became a turning point.
Since then, Around The Way Haven of Hope has expanded its services to provide hundreds of rides monthly for seniors, medically fragile individuals, and under served families — transporting them to clinics, pharmacies, dialysis appointments, community events, and even job interviews. Every mile driven tells a story of connection, care, and hope.
When a single mother named Jasmine needed reliable rides to her prenatal appointments, Around The Way Haven of Hope made sure she never missed one. When three seniors in the same apartment complex needed transportation to a community food pantry, Around The Way Haven of Hope arranged regular group pickups.
And when a local grandmother said, “You don’t just drive us — you show up like family,” the team knew they were fulfilling their mission.
This isn’t just transportation. This is transformation.
Around The Way Haven of Hope is more than vans and schedules — it’s a movement powered by love, driven by community, and built on the belief that everyone deserves access to the road of opportunity.
Disabled young adults and the elderly within our community are confronted daily with a stark reality; limited mobility options. A substantial number of them rely on an unreliable patchwork of assistance from family, friends, or costly specialized transportation services.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
